Michalowske, CarleneCarlene E. (Goron) Michalowske, age 84, of Fond du Lac, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at Agnesian Hospice Home of Hope surrounded by her family. She was born on February 20, 1933, the daughter of Carl and Kathryn (Smet) Goron. On May 11, 1957, she married John Michalowske at St. Louis Church in Fond du Lac. Carlene graduated from Saint Mary's Springs Academy in Fond du Lac, WI, majoring in art. She worked at Hopes Candy, Knight's Pharmacy, Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company, and waitressed at many restaurants, including the Beer Hut, Frenchies, Sambos, Van Ryan's, Bernward Hall, and Ransoms. At the end of her career she was self-employed as a cleaning professional until retirement at age 80. Carlene was a member of Holy Family Parish, serving as a member of the bereavement committee and a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed playing cards with her card club and bowling with the Eagles Club. Carlene loved travel, visiting Hawaii, California, South Dakota, Las Vegas, and Branson, MO and taking her dream trip to Ireland in 2014. She was very proud of her many grandchildren and appreciated spending time with them. Carlene is survived by her son, Brian (Christine) Michalowske of Glenbeulah, daughters, Pam (Donald) Braatz of Howards Grove, Angela (Dale) Knutson of Appleton, Karla (Michael) Cox of North Branch, MN, Nichola Michalowske of Maple Grove, MN, eleven grandchildren, Amanda Flores, Donald Braatz Jr, Andrea Braatz, Stephanie Knutson, Brett Knutson, Kayla Michalowske, Hunter Michalowske, Justine Cox, Jacob Cox, Nathan Cox, Allison Mendez, three great-grandchildren, Johnny, Kathryn, and Joseph, two step-great-grandchildren, AJ and Michael, one great-great grandchild, Ryder, one brother Carl (Sandra) Goron, and one sister Rosie (Leo)Steinke. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, and one sister, Dolores. Her children would like to thank Visiting Angels Home Care and Agnesian Hospice Home of Hope, who made Carlene feel like she was always with family and for all their loving and compassionate care.VISITATION: Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 9-11 A.M. at Holy Family Church, 271 4th St. Way, Fond du Lac, WI. FUNERAL: Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 11 A.M. at Holy Family Church. Entombment will follow at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
