Carmelita Allen Seay87, embarked on her final journey from this life into the next on Monday March 6, 2017.Carmelita was born on December 18, 1929 in Birmingham, AL to the late Virgil Allen and Boncyle Stewart Land. She married her childhood love, Captain Wesley H. Seay one June 24, 1951 at her family's home in Franklin County. Shortly after, they welcomed two children, the late Wesley Carl Seay and Maria Kelley.Carmelita enjoyed traveling the world, living in a number of countries. She embraced new cultures, learning different languages, savoring exotic foods, dressing in native clothing and memorable makeup and jewelry. She brought home exciting stories of adventures and life. A true entertainer, she delighted in hosting lavish dinner parties. She was artistic, poetic, loved dancing the jitterbug and adored Elvis Presley.She is survived by her daughter, Maria Kelley; grandchildren, Bonnie (John) Brogle, Miranda Seay, and John Wesley Kelley; great grandchildren John Mark "Tripp" and William Brogle; brother, Virgil "Jerry" Allen; and nieces and nephews. She was greatly loved and will be missed. Visitation was held at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home 940 Cesery Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32211 on Sunday March 19, 2017 from 2-4 pm.
