XENIA Carmie C. Brakeall, 88, of Xenia, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 27, 2013 after a short illness, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. She goes to rest eternally in the arms of her Lord and Savior, and joins her loving husband, Frank, who preceded her in death in 2008, as well as her daughter Pam, who passed away in 2006. Carmie was born on June 15, 1925 to the late Tom and Pheba (Banks) Watkins in Blaze, KY. She married Frank Brakeall on October 14, 1942 in Covington, KY and spent her time working at home and caring for their children. Carmie is survived by her children Danny J. (Shirley) Brakeall of Jamestown, Shirley A. (Len) Engle of Gallipolis, Mary Jane Hill of Xenia and Son in Law David (Bobbie) Litteral of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren, Andrea (Steve) Kelley of Columbus, Laura Brakeall of Xenia, David C. (Melissa) Litteral of Beavercreek, Larry K. (Judy) Tomlinson of Jamestown, Greg Engle of Gallipolis, Danny F. Brakeall of Jamestown, and Jeremy L. (Sherri) Litteral of Dayton; ten great-grandchildren, Josh and Jonathan Brakeall of Jamestown, Meaghan and Wyatt Kelley of Columbus, Jessie Baise-Tomlinson, Cassie and Keith Tomlinson of Jamestown, Christian Litteral of Beavercreek, Justin and Kyle Litteral of Washington Court House; one great-great grandchild, Liam Litteral of Washington Court House; one sister, Jewell Moore of Amelia; and brother in law, George Brakeall of North Carolina. Along with her parents, husband and daughter, Carmie was preceded in death by three brothers Shelby, Seldon, and Boyd Watkins; and a sister Mae (Watkins) Carter. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Yellow Springs. A memorial service will be held Saturday July 20th at 10:30 AM at the Cedarville Church of the Nazarene, where Carmie had been a faithful member since 1949, with Doug Graham officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Cedarville Church of the Nazarene (125 S. Main St. Cedarville, OH) in her honor.
