Carol A. BrentlingerIthaca,NYCarol A. Brentlinger of Ithaca, NY passed away June 12th, 2017 at her home. Carol was born on February 27, 1934 in Wilmington DE. She married John Brentlinger of Chadds Ford, PA and moved to Ithaca in 1978, where they spent many years traveling the world sport and fly fishing. Carol's record sailfish that she caught in Costa Rica is on display at Cornell University where both Carol and John were very much involved. After John passed away in 1996, Carol became an Ombudsman for the State of NY, and volunteered as a loadmaster on a B-17 crew with the Commemorative Air Force - Arizona Wing who toured the iconic World War 2 aircraft "Sentimental Journey".Carol is survived by her sister, Anna May Davis of Manassaas Virginia; brother, Robert Talarowski of Mission Viejo, California; son, Andrew L. Mitchell, Jr. of Kennett Square, PA and his children Gabrielle, Aly, and Talon; Daugther, Donna Ignasz of Smyrna, DE, her daughter Lauren Riley , and Carol's great grandson, Nathan of Dover, DE. She was predeceased in death by her son, Kenneth Mitchell, survived by his daughters, Jessica, Angela, McCawley and Jaclynne, all of Wilimington, DE. She is also survived by her great grandsons, Ryder, Benjamin and Landon. Carol is also predeceased by her brother, Bill Talarowski. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and close friends.At Carol's request, there will be no services and she requests no flowers. Her final wish was having her ashes scattered in a private ceremony at Treman State Park in Ithaca, NY.
