BURLINGTON - Carol J. Bishop, age 83, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn. Carol was born on October 23, 1929 in Racine, to the late Henry "Harry" and Esther (nee Mahnke) Krupp. She spent her early years in Racine before moving to Burlington. Carol attended Racine public schools and was a high school graduate in 1947. Carol was a secretary for the Burlington Area School District for 23 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of Cross Lutheran Church where she participated in the church choir, the Hand Bell Choir and the Naomi Circle. Carol was also a member of the Riverport Chorus and Sweet Adelines. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting and baking. Survivors include her children; Thomas (Gail) Bishop of Burlington and Jean (Wayne) Mikrut of Genoa City, grandchildren; Danielle and Adam Bishop, Lauren (Jon) Harrigan and Lindsey and Leah Mikrut, a niece, Dianne (Michael) Brennand and by a nephew, James (Judith) Krupp. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Richard Krupp, sisters-in-law; Janith Krupp and Beth Krupp and by a niece, Barbara Jajtner. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 7:00 PM at Cross Lutheran Church with Pastor Carolyn Sellers officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Cross Lutheran Church on Friday, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Private burial will take place at Burlington Cemetery.
