Carol D. Miller95, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 19, 2017. She was born on December 30, 1921 in Southport, Indiana to Orange Davis and Florence Diggs Davis.She graduated from Southport HS in 1940, attended
Indiana University and was a lifelong member of Southport Presbyterian Church. She volunteered at St. Francis Hospital for many years as a Pink Lady, enjoyed golf, and was an avid bridge player. Carol was a stewardess for TWA near the end of WWII and flew on TWA's epic first Trans-Atlantic flight from NYC to Paris with layovers in Newfoundland, Iceland, and Ireland before finally reaching Paris. She married Dick Miller shortly after the war and was a homemaker and mother. Later in life, she enjoyed her cottage on Sweetwater Lake and a winter home in Lake Place FL.She is survived by her loving children Rick Miller (Suzette), Nancy Kelley (Steve), Randy Miller (Teresa), and step-son Rick Miller (Nancy). She had nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Nancy Kelley's tireless devotion to her mother provided great comfort to Carol the last two years of her life. Many thanks to the staff at the Hearth at Juday Creek in Granger, IN for their skilled care.Carol was preceded in death by her first husband Richard L. Miller in 1977 and her second husband Richard W. Miller in 2014. Also preceding Carol in death was her brother, Dudley Davis, her sister, Myra Lutes, and step-brothers, Walter, Bob, and Charles McLaughlin.Visitation will be Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 South State Road 135 and Olive Branch Road with a funeral service to be conducted at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
