Carol J. Hardic, 81, of Montrose, passed away after an extended illness on Friday, March 25, 2016, at Meadow View Senior Living Center. Her husband of 62 years, Ray O. Hardic, survives.She was born on August 4, 1934, in Salem Twp., Lake Ariel, to the late Leroy B. and Eva J. (Glossenger) Conklin. In addition to her husband, also surviving are her four children and their spouses, Don and Marie Hardic, Kay and Jim Vargason, T.R. and Lisa Hardic, Larry and Michele Hardic; eight grandchildren, Bill (Shelley) Hardic, Ben (Cory) Hardic, Michelle (Mike) Kiesinger, Marci (Casey) Kithcart, Michael Vargason, Nathan Hardic (fiancé Ashley Wilson), Jared (Ashley) Hardic, Colt Hardic; step-grandson, Curtis Darling; six great grandchildren, Alex and Tommy Hardic, Henry and Audrey Hardic, Gavin and Ryley Kithcart; brother and sisters-in-law, Bruce and Edith Conklin, Betty Conklin; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Russell and Charles Conklin; and three sisters, Betty Fisher, Georgia Jennings, and Shirley Carey. Carol was a member of the East Rush United Methodist Church, the Fairdale Grange for over 65 years, as well as the Montrose Music Club, the Church Street Singers, and Penny Camper Club. She was known as "Sweetheart Grandmother" to her grandchildren. Carol had a wonderful voice, and she and Ray loved to entertain friends and family with their singing. Carol loved flowers, birds, good food, and music these things she passed on to her family and to her friends.A Funeral Service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, with Rev. Dave Hinkley officiating. Interment in the Rush Center Memorial Park, Rush Twp.
