RedSprings, NC — Carol Jean, a long-time resident of the RedSprings area, died Friday the 10th of July at RedSprings Assisted Living Facility.
Born in 1942 in Lumberton NC, Carol received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education from University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 1971. She continued her education at Robeson County Community College, from which she received her M.Ed. in Nursing in 1983.
Carol taught Nursing at the University of Pembroke in the mid-1980s and worked at various psychiatric nursing facilities throughout North Carolina in the 1990s. In a career shift, she took a position as a Nurse at RedSprings High School, RedSprings NC, where she worked until her retirement.
Carol loved good food and socializing, enjoyed going to movies and plays with friends, and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.
She is survived by her daughter, Tonya Campbell and several grandchildren and great grandchildren of whom live in North Carolina, and brought great joy to her later years.
