Felix, Carol Joyce Age 85, passed away at her home in Florence, surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 5, 2017. She was born on November 15, 1931 in Miami, Arizona to Lawrence Doyle and Johnie (Lee) Poor. Carol graduated from Hayden High School and went on to graduate from Central Arizona College with a diploma as a Registered Nurse. She later went on to complete her Master's Degree in Hospital Administration from the College of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. On March 3, 1951, she married John Celaya Felix of Florence, Arizona and had four children. Carol and John enjoyed traveling together as well as spending time with family and friends. Carol was a Psychiatric Nurse with the Arizona Department of Corrections for many years. Carol always had a smile for everyone she met, and loved caring for her family and her large circle of friends. She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, John; children Carol (Felix) and her husband David Street, Joseph Felix and his wife Karen, John A. Felix, and Cynthia (Felix) Clarke; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Carol requested cremation which was fulfilled by the Neptune Society of Tucson. A Rosary will be said at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 221 E. 8th Street, Florence, Arizona. A luncheon will follow the Memorial Mass in the Parish Hall where the family will greet friends and share memories of their beloved mother.
