Carol Ruth Lee, age 86, passed away on June 23, 2017 after a brief illness while visiting family in Appleton, Wisconsin. Carol was born on April 5, 1931 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Roy and Minnie Widman. She grew up in Faribault, Minnesota and married her high school sweetheart David Lee on September 9, 1950. He preceded her in death on November 7, 2013 after 63 years together. She enjoyed traveling throughout her life. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an active member of Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, a?member of the Norwegian Society and the Republican Women. She will be deeply missed by her children: Mark (Trudy), Bruce, Linda (Bart), Debra, Sandra (Jack), 16 grandchildren: Roland, Melisa (Jeff), Candice (Jesse), Katrina (Gary), Travis, Jessica, Justin, Christopher (Paula), Alexandra (Mario), Aaron (Anna), Matthew (Kassidee), Mason (Shawna), Alexander (Christie), Ethan, Simon and Tristin; 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David, son-in-law Jim and sister Anita. A Memorial service will be held on July 11, at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2500 George Dieter, at 10:00 am. The family would like to thank Nancy Hansen for being a true friend to Carol. Also, thank you to Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, you welcomed her into your hearts and made her part of your family. Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day… unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.
