Carol Lukie, 83, of South Amboy, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was the cherished wife of John Lukie, and a devoted daughter of Philip and Clare Sullivan.
Born and raised in South Amboy, she was educated in the local school system. Carol was known for her warm heart and vibrant spirit. She was an active communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, and the South Amboy Citizens Club. She found joy in every moment and had a remarkable ability to bring people together. As a mother, she instilled values of kindness and perseverance in her children, Clare Brown and John Lukie, who continue to carry her legacy forward.
Carol's life was filled with love and laughter, and she adored her role as a grandmother, creating countless cherished memories with her grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing with her family and reading the local newspaper in her free time, and was very proud to discuss her family lineage and Irish descent. Her unwavering support and guidance will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 3rd at 6:30pm at The Gundrum Service "Home for Funerals" 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Mary's Church Food Pantry, reflecting Carol’s spirit of generosity.
