JAMES Carole M. Carole M. Suzor-Hubay-Duris-James, age 76 and lifelong resident of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 28, 2016. She was born on September 28, 1940, to Roy M. and Pearl Marie (Cheff) Suzor. A good friend once said that in their lifetime, they've only met one saint, and that her name was Carole. Carole worked for many years in the food and beverage industry in and around Toledo at establishments like White Tower, Tavern on the Main, Bagpipers, Zach's Place, Coppers, the French Quarter Holiday Inn, and most recently, Sally B's. Chances are that if you've ever bellied up to a bar in the Toledo area over the last 30 years, you've probably been served by her. Carole loved horror movies, the Cleveland Browns, the Miami Dolphins, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the color blue, but what she treasured more than anything else was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, for whom she would have done anything within her power. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael Hubay, Michelle (Mike) Downard, Lori (Catherine McCarthy) Duris, Joe (Angie) Duris, Doug (Ree) James, Ceri (Jeff) Paul, Mimi (Mark) Ehlen; brother, Donald Suzor; sister, Doris Jones; grandchildren, Heather (Nathan) Mason, Rachel Vaughn, Joe (Shana) Duris, Callyn (Andy Wright) Duris, Zane Hubay, Zack Hubay, Sarah James, Indy James, Art Paul, Harry (Emily) Paul, and Eliza Ehlen; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Braden, Hunter, Kara, Jace, Chloe, and Cullen; furry friends, Tommy, Eli, and Gidget. In addition to her parents, Carole was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur James and brother-in-law, Wesley Jones. The family will be gathering Friday, November 4, at 2 p.m. at Acacia Lake in Toledo Memorial Gardens, and a celebration of her life and legacy will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. at Lucarelli Hall, above Al's Upholstery, 4526 Monroe St., Toledo, OH. Parking available at the Monroe Street Diner. Memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio, 3883 Monroe St., Toledo, OH 43606.
