Caroline Gallegos, 80, a resident of Villanueva, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016 is now resting peacefully after a long courageous battle with
breast cancer. She will always be remembered for her loving and nurturing ways. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and all-around friend. She was born on July 20, 1936, in Sena to Felipe Chavez and Leonor Romero Chavez.Caroline was a retired postmaster from the Villanueva Post Office. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Villanueva. She loved to cook and clean her yard; she also enjoyed going to the casino. She will be dearly missed by anyone who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan A. Gallegos; two sons, Charles J. Gallegos; infant son, Kenneth Gallegos; her parents, Felipe and Leonor Chavez (Romero); father-in-law, Pedro V. Gallegos; three brothers, Ramon, Elias, and Severo Chavez, and two sisters, Altagracia Aguilar and Angie Fisher.She is survived by her children, Joe F. Gallegos, Patricia Garcia and husband, Martin, Jerry Gallegos and wife, Dawna, and Phyllis Gallegos and friend, Martin Romero; sisters, Simona Trujillo, Mary Vigil (Lawrence) and Prisilla Chavez; mother-in-law, Josephine Gallegos; grandchildren, Carlos (Jolene), Amor (Brian), Rosa (Manuel), Johnny Joe (Nicole), Mariano (Anjanette), Analysa, Kenneth and Luke; great-grandchildren, Daniel Jonathan, Abrianna, Elijah, Nathan, Jase, Nick, Sariah, Damian, Cebrian, Esperanza, Juan Antonio and Jordan; brothers-in-law, Roy (Rosabel), Eutemio (Lorella), Andrew (Delfinia); sisters-in-law; Catherine (Pete), Leora (Don); sister-in-law; Joann Gallegos and many more family and friends.Rosary services were held at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Villanueva. Funeral services will be conducted at noon today (Friday) also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father Moses Nwankwo as celebrant. Casket bearers will be Carlos Gallegos, Johnny Joe Gallegos, Mariano Gallegos, Kenneth Marrujo, Tim Aguilar and Edward Madrid. Honorary bearers will be all her remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
