Zahn, Caroline M.Caroline M. Zahn, 87, of Fond du Lac, died on Monday, February 27, 2017, at Brookdale Senior Living in Fond du Lac. She was born on July 7, 1929, in the Township of Springville, Ripon, Wisconsin. Caroline was the daughter of the late Gottlieb and Martha (Retzlaff) Kunst. She was baptized on September 15, 1929, and confirmed on April 18, 1943, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon. Caroline graduated as Salutatorian of her class from Rosendale High School in 1949. On April 14, 1951, she was united in marriage to Orlin Zahn at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon. They lived on a farm near Oakfield and in 1969 they moved to Brownsville where they were in the electrical and refrigeration business.Caroline worked for A.C. Nielson Company for 18 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. Caroline enjoyed traveling and has been to several different countries.Those Caroline leaves behind to cherish her memory include three children, Verna (Dean) Weigand of Waukesha, Susan (James) Ballbach of Newton, North Carolina, and Michael (Colleen) Zahn of Coloma; two grandchildren, Daniel (Tiffany) Weigand of Pewaukee and Dawn (Michael) Greeson of East Troy; two great-granddaughters, Hailey and Riley Greeson; a niece, Sharon (Charles) Langner of Camp Douglas; a nephew, Douglas Schultz of McCordsville, Indiana; a great nephew, John (Chelsey) Langner of Eau Claire; other relatives and friends.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen (Arlo) Schultz.Funeral services for Caroline will be held at Noon on Friday, March 3, 2017, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 606 Forest Avenue, in Fond du Lac. Rev. James Borgwardt will officiate and burial will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Brownsville.Caroline's family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service..Memorials may be directed to Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac.The Myrhum Patten Miller and Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Caroline's arrangements.
