Carolyn T. GreenwoodSalisbury-Carolyn T. Greenwood, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, in the arms of her daughter.She was born on May 13, 1923, in Wilmington, North Carolina, to the late Henry M. and Ida Mae Jackson Tiencken.Mrs. Greenwood is survived by her daughter, Carolee Greenwood of Salisbury; two grandsons, Christopher Emge and his wife, Sabrina, of Salisbury; Kevin Meagher and his wife, Michelle, of Panama City Beach, FL; and three great-granddaughters, Olivia, Kendal, and Adison Emge.She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years, Leroy G. Greenwood, and her brother, Henry M. Tiencken, Jr., and his wife, Rebecca. After graduating from the Washington School for Secretaries, she worked at the World Bank, in Washington, D.C., during World War II. After her daughter entered junior high school, she went back to work, part-time, as the bookkeeper at Gruver Construction Company, in Silver Spring, MD, until she retired. But, her greatest love was being a wife and mother.She was a member of Luther Place Memorial Church, in Washington, D.C., and then St. Luke's Lutheran Church, in Silver Spring, MD. After moving to Salisbury in 2001, she transferred her membership to Christ United Methodist Church. She and her husband were avid dancers, both ballroom and square dancing, and she loved to travel and spend time with her grandsons.A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, April 7, at 11 AM, at Christ United Methodist Church, in Salisbury, The Rev. Bill Green will officiate. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the church, and a reception will follow in Fellowship Hall.Contributions in memory of Mrs. Greenwood can be sent to Christ UM Church; MAC, Inc.; H.O.P.E.
