Carolyn M. Bowen, 70, of Kingsley, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at the Endless Mountains Health Systems, Montrose, after battling; for many years; a rare blood disorder. She was born on August 13, 1944 in Pleasantville, N.J. to the late Byron Rogers and Mildred Jeannetta (Lee) Hale. Her husband of 39 years, George A. Bowen and son, Johnny Martinez Bowen, predeceased her. Surviving is her son, William Kyle Bowen, Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and Neal Chidester, Kingsley; four grandchildren, Ryan, Krista, Jesse, and Kyle Chidester; sister and brother-in-law, Jeannetta and Larry Caplan, Corpus Christi, Texas; nephew and his wife, David and Sarah Caplan; and cousins. Carolyn received her RN degree from Broome Community College and worked as a nurse for over 20 years at the Endless Mountains Health Systems. She loved the outdoors, the beach, gardening, NASCAR, and traveling, which she did whenever she got a chance. Carolyn adored her grandchildren, and had many friends. A Memorial Service was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, with Rev. Ralph Christianson of the First Universalist Church in Brooklyn, officiating. Friends called on the family prior to the service. Interment will be at a later date in the Asbury Cemetery, English Creek, N.J.
