“Well Done”

Carolynn Lesuer-Brown, 73, of Davenport, Florida, passed on April 23, 2023. Carolynn was born on May 26, 1949 to Frances Harper and Davison Lesuer in Highpoint, NC. On this day, a star was born. Carolynn aka Sunshine began singing and traveling all across the state of North Carolina where she gained for name “Sunshine”. All she wanted to do was Shine! In her early 20s she dropped her first record entitled “He’s Got Me” which hit local gospel radio stations all across the state of North Carolina. Later on, Carolynn became ill which made her unable to travel and sing. She would say “it ain’t over until My God says, it’s done. I’m holding on to the blood stain banner”. She stood on the word of God and his promises to never leave her nor forsake her. Carolynn did not allow her setback to stop her. In 1980, she moved to Davenport, Fl to take on her new job where she worked at Walt Disney Resorts as a supporting actress/singer around the theme park. All she wanted to was serve people and share her gift with the world. A few years later, she met the love of her life Mr. Henderson Brown. Just 2 years after the 2 became one, they birthed a beautiful Baby boy. She called him her “Sonshine”. Carolynn served on the usher board and she started Soulfood Saturday’s cooking/serving some of her favorite recipes.

On April 23rd, 2023, our “Sunshine” gained her wings and loss her battle to cancer. She is proceeded in death by her parents Frances Harper and Davison Lesuer, beloved sister Joyce Locklear and daughter Elizabeth Lesuer. She leaves behind to cherish her “Sonshine” Edward(Kila), daughter Emma (Michael), step-daughter Robin (Darryl) sister Roberta(Walter), 6 grandchildren Jasper, Jaida, Naiem, Davante (Simone), Di’Andre and Layla. 3 great grandchildren Winter, Kennedy and Kenner.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Today, our “Sunshine” is with our God!
