Carolynn ChittimCarolynn Chittim died peacefully on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at the age of 75. She is survived by her brother Clayton Chittim and his wife Mary of Blue Springs, MO; her nieces Tiffany Comiskey, Leslie Sharp and Sarah Thompson as well as their spouses and 8 great nieces and nephews; her Aunt Dean Hammond of Springfield; her cousins Nancy Baker, Jan Isenberg, Joan Immethun, Barry Hammond and their families. She is preceded in death by her mother Maxine Chittim and Grandparents George and Marie Tiffany of Springfield. Carolynn Chittim was born on February 28, 1942 in San Francisco, California at the Naval Base shortly after the start of World War II. The family eventually moved back to Springfield where she graduated from Central High School with honors in 1960. She earned her degree as a Registered Nurse from Burge Hospital School of Nursing and Drury College. Carolynn went on to become a Nurse Anesthetist and worked for 40 years at St. John's (Mercy) Hospital.Her family remembers her as a kind, patient and gentle lady who encouraged them to pursue their dreams. She was an avid animal lover who fostered countless animals and nursed them to health. She was also passionate about sewing, music, and books. A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Greenlawn Cemetery with a reception to follow.In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Southwest Missouri Humane Society, 3161 W.
