Mrs. Carrie was born to the late Annie Brown and Amos Brown on April 17, 1929 in Greenville, NC. She resided in her native hometown until she departed this life at 10:30pm on March 27, 2021 at home.
Mrs. Carrie was a graduate of H. B. Suggs High School. As a young adults, Charlie Barnes and Carrie Brown were joined together in Holy Matrimony, and to that union were born four girls and one boy. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Mrs. Carrie was employed at Burroughs Welocome for twenty years in the cafeteria until her retirement in April 1991. As a teenager she joined Holly Hill Church where she was secretary of the church for twenty-five years, a member of the Senior Choir, The R. E. Worrell traveling choir, and Christians in Action. She loved the Lord and his people.
Mrs. Carrie's legacy; Glenda Barnes of Greenville, NC, Linda Barnes of Greenville, NC, Nancy Barnes of Greenville, NC. Timmy Barnes of Greenville, NC, and Sherilda Stanley (Roy) of Washington, NC. Two devoted nieces, Brenda White of Greenville, NC, and Dorothy Tripp of Greenville, NC. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. And a host of other family and friends.
This life's day is over, all storms have finally passed. I've crossed the great divide to glory. I'm safe in his arms, thank God at last! No mpre pain, no more tears, no more aching in my mind, body, or soul. The Father has called me home, where I'll walk the streets of gold!
