Mrs. Carrie Lee Davenport Cranford, 97, of 116 Jones Street, died Friday in Hospice at Florence Hand Nursing Home.

Mrs. Cranford, born on March 23, 1916, in Chipley (Pine Mountain), GA, was the daughter of Hamilton and Mary-Sturdivant Davenport. She was a faithful and dedicated deacon of Valley Grove Baptist Church in LaGrange, GA, serving on the Mother's and Mission Boards.

Survivors include a daughter, Mollye Robinson (Paul Davis) of Irvine, GA; a son, Larry Cranford of LaGrange; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-granddaughters; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. George Cranford, son Charles Johnson Jr., and daughter Joyce.

Funeral Services will be held at Confidence Baptist Church on Saturday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Michael Jackson and Rev. C. W. Martin officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. The repast will be held at William Griggs Recreation Center, 716 Glen Robertson Drive, LaGrange, GA.
