Carrie was born on April 15, 1942, In Millen, Ga to Matilda Oglesby & Horace Oglesby. From the moment she entered our lives, she brought an incredible sense of joy and optimism that could light up any room.
Carrie worked at Brooklyn Development Center, she had a fulfilling career in Brooklyn, New York where she retired and moved back to her home town in Augusta, Ga.
Carrie was born in Millen, Ga, raised in Augusta, Ga, moved to Brooklyn, New York, Retired in Brooklyn, New York, Moved to Augusta, Ga, moved to Richmond Hill, Ga, her final residence in Hinesville, Ga.
Known for her unwavering positivism, Carrie's infectious laughter was like music to our ears. Whether it was cracking a joke at family gatherings or simply finding the humor in everyday life, she had a special talent for making us see the lighter side of any situation.
Carrie had an insatiable curiosity for the world. She was always eager to learn and explore new things. Whether it was her voracious appetite for reading, her knack for solving crossword puzzles, going to play bingo or her love for going on a cruise every year, she never ceased to amaze us with her thirst for life.
With her warm and caring nature, Carrie was a true friend to all. She was the listening ear we could count on, the shoulder to lean on, and the voice of reason during life’s ups and downs. Her caring heart touched countless lives, leaving a lasting imprint on the many souls she encountered.
Carrie had an innate love for nature and the simple pleasures in life. Whether it was tending to her vibrant garden, getting in her vehicle and just listening to her music while she drives down the interstate, or just being around family and friends, she always found solace in the great outdoors. Her profound appreciation for the beauty of the world around us reminds us to pause and find joy in the little things.
She is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters Charlie Oglesby, Ullie Oglesby, Andrew Oglesby, Horace Oglesby, FloyDell Oglesby, Vernon Oglesby, Evelyn Small, Leola Mincey, Marry Brinson, Dorothy (Joe) Passmore, Eliza Murray, one surviving sister Vivian Williams. Three sister in laws Katie Oglesby, Mae Oglesby, Mary Oglesby and Yvette Oglesby and one brother-in-law Charlie Williams.
She is survived by her four children, Ronald Oglesby, Wanda (Calvin) Griffin, Nora Cameron, Norman (Teniqua) Cameron, She preceded in death by her two children, Frank Oglesby, Thomas Oglesby.
She is survived by her grandchildren Ronald, Anthony (Jennifer), Starasia (Quinton), Thomas, Kimyah (Kelly), Lashonda, Andrew, Aristalia, DeVone, Calisha, Douglas, Darius, Donovan, Eric
She has 20 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren, a host of nieces, and nephews.
