Carrie Smith, 81, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed on September 23, 2022. Carrie was born on January 11, 1941 in verda, Kentucky the daughter of Beckham and euna Middleton.

Carrie was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved to spend time with her family.

she is survived by two son and daughters-in-law:William M. and Annett Smith and Preston and Vicky L. Smith; four daughters and three sons-in-law: Euna and Donny Stevens, Sharry Long, Teresa and Marvin Massie, and Tammy and Charles Williamson all of Springfield; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two sisters and a brother-in-law: Linda and Charles Clark of Harlan, Kentucky, and Pat Bruner of Colburn, Virginia; two brothers, Harvey Middleton of Colburn, Virginia, and Robert Middleton of Harlan, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of forty-nine years, William T. Smith in 1999, three brothers and two sisters. 

A gathering of family and friends will be held on sunday september 18, 2022 5-8pm at rue funeral home service will be held Monday at 10:30 am with Rick clos officiating.

Burial will be in the Harlingen cemetery, Indiana
