Niquette, Carroll J. "Smokey" 85, passed away on November 25, 2015. Smokey was born on September 27, 1930, in Manhattan, Kansas, to Reamon and Lena Niquette. He was preceded in death by his parents. Smokey is survived by his sisters, Dorothy Branch, Sacramento, CA and Mary Atwater, Wichita; brother, Ernest (Verla) Niquette, Wichita; 6 nieces; 1 nephew; 4 great-nieces; 4 great-nephews; 3 great-great-nieces; 2 great-great-nephews; and bestfriends, Joe and Linda Garza. Smokey graduated high school in Arnold, Kansas. He was a member of the United States Air Force. After leaving the Air Force, he went to work for Continental Trailways and the United States Postal Service, retiring from the Postal service in 1988. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Resthaven Mortuary. If desired, there will be a visitation with the family one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Salvation Army.
