Age 96 Peacefully passed away Monday, November 1, 2016 at her home in Burnsville. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Margaret O'Malley, brother Tom O'Malley, loving husband Dr. John P. Ryan, son Tom Ryan, daughter in law Nancy Ryan, and son in law Sylvio Venditti. She is survived by her daughters Mary Kay Venditti, Peggy (Jim) McAllister and her sons Pat Ryan and John (Barb) Ryan, grandchildren (Anne, Jennifer, Kelly, Kate, Molly, Chris, Becca, Emily, Jen, Nick, John, Thomas and Rachel), and great grandchildren (Magali, Luna, August, Caden, Eddie, Noah, Joe, Luke, Isaac, Sofia, Diego, Olivia, Carter, Quinn, Ben, Lucy, Jack, Henry and Isabel). Catherine was born on August 31, 1920. She was born and raised on St. Paul's East Side. She attended Harding High School, class of 1939, and then went on to Rasmussen Business College. She was married to John Ryan on April 29, 1944 at St. John's Church on Kent Street in St. Paul. Catherine embraced life as a devoted wife of 59 years and grandmother for 46 years. She enjoyed golf, traveling and socializing with friends. Catherine was a devout Catholic who was active in church activities and volunteer ministries. She loved her family deeply and brought warmth and caring to those around her. All who knew and loved her will miss her. A Mass celebrating her life will take place on Monday, November 7th at Mary, Mother of the Church in Burnsville at 3pm. There will be a visitation at the church prior to the Mass from 2pm to 3pm.
