Yanni-Humbles, Catherine Mary Catherine Mary Yanni-Humbles, of Peoria, passed away on 20th of July 2017 at the age of 57. She was born on September 12, 1959 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to Thomas and Angela Pastore-Yanni. She attended Bishop Hannon High School, and graduated as valedictorian from Lackawanna Junior College in Information Systems (summa cum laude) before continuing on to Kings College, where she received her Bachelor of Science (cum laude) in the Physician Assistant program.Over the course of her career, Catherine was awarded the President's Award of Phoenix Dermatologic Society (2006) and Physician's Assistant Preceptor of the Year (2009 and 2010). She was a member of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and volunteered her time with both Habitat for Humanity and the Arizona StandDown Alliance, which helps homeless veterans access necessary services to regain independent living. Catherine is preceded in death by her parents, Angela and Thomas Yanni; sister, Marianne Yanni, as well as three infant siblings, Mary Ann, Frances, and James. Catherine is survived by her devoted husband, Mark James Humbles; son, Frank Anthony Sposito; siblings, JoAnn Martarano (Dickson City, PA), Madeline Yanni (Bradenton, FL), Angela Mele (Scottsdale, AZ), Anne Koniszewski (Peckville, PA), Theresa Yanni (Las Vegas, NV), Roseann Tormey (Peoria, AZ), Sam Yanni (Houston, TX), Thomas Yanni (Maricopa, AZ), and Michael Yanni (Los Angeles, CA); and many beloved nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6180 W. Utopia Rd. in Glendale, on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 10am, followed immediately by a celebration of Catherine's life in the church reception hall. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be made in Catherine's memory to Alzheimer's Research
