On April 29, 2023, the world lost an extraordinary person in the passing of Cathrine Crates. She was born on February 13, 1946, in Arlington, Virginia, United States, to her loving parents, Daniel and Octavia Ragen.
Cathrine lived a fulfilling life and leaves behind a lasting legacy in the lives of her family, friends, and colleagues. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She and her late husband, William Crates, were blessed with three children, Sandy, Chandra, and Estelle, who were the light of her life. She doted on her grandchildren endlessly and cherished every moment spent with them.
Cathrine was a true pioneer and made a significant impact in the entertainment industry, working as a TV Actor. Later, she devoted herself to serving her country, having proudly served as a Navy Nurse. Cathrine's dedication to her profession and her country was exemplary.
Cathrine was a fighter, but sadly, she lost her battle with lung cancer. Her passing has left a profound void in the hearts of her loved ones, but they find solace in knowing she lived a full life, one in which she accomplished so much. Cathrine's memory will live on, and she will forever be remembered as an inspiring and caring individual whose love touched many lives.
Preston and Sons Funeral Home of Manassas is serving the family. Funeral Director Judy Ward is in charge of arrangements.
The world was a better place with Cathrine in it, and her passing has left a void that will never be filled. May she rest in peace.
