CATHRYN MARIE MCCOY, 90 SEWARD - Cathryn Marie McCoy, 90, formerly of the Seward area, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother went to eternal rest on Thursday, August 15, 2013. Cathryn was born on November 26, 1922, in Oconee Township, the daughter of Norman and Zola (Hilton) Hinton. She graduated from Pecatonica High School in 1941. Cathryn married Howard L. McCoy on May 30, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo. They were near their 68th year of marriage when he died on March 29, 2010. She clerked at The Village Emporium, in Winnebago, for many years. Cathryn was an active member of Seward Congregational Church and its Women's Fellowship. She loved music, was an avid reader, and enjoyed playing cards and board games with life-long friends and family. Caring and providing for her family brought her much joy. Cathryn is lovingly survived by her children, Sharon (Roger) Rampenthal of Lena, Dennis (Loretta) McCoy of Winnebago, Patricia Edwards of Rockton, Maureen McCoy of The Villages, Fla., Nancy Brown of Golden, Colo., Rebecca Bogardus of Shorewood, Wis., Rex (Becky Jo) McCoy of German Valley, Randall (Nancy Jo) McCoy of Seward, Sally (William) Bremer of Lake Summerset and Laura (Joe) Spinello of Davis; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her parents; son-in-law, John Edwards; and brothers, Warren and Earl Hinton. Service is at 10 a.m., Monday, August 19, 2013, in Seward Congregational Church, with the Rev. Dale Bowen officiating. Burial in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery, Pecatonica. Visitation 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, August 18, 2013, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago.
