Cecelia "Ceil" Morost, 86, returned unexpectedly to her heavenly home in the early morning hours of June 2, 2018.
Born in Philadelphia, Ceil was a longtime resident of Westchester NY. She was a devoted wife and proud homemaker who found a passion in serving those in need. Ceil had an unwavering faith in God and was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church for the last 25 years. She was active in The Rosary Choir, fundraising events and coordinated efforts to deliver communion to those bedridden or unable to attend mass services. After her husband passed away in 2001 Ceil met her longtime companion, William Shure, during a church service.
Ceil was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her three children and six grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, singing and catching up with friends daily. Ceil had friends all over the country and kept in touch with every single one. Ms. Morost was a patient and supportive piano tutor for the Church community. Inspiring creativity and dedication in others was one of her life-long goals.
Ceil is survived by her three children, David (Lin) Morost of Nyack, NY; Suzanne (Andrew) Maroney of Belmar, NJ; and Catherine (Robert) Stephan of Rumson, NJ. She leaves behind six grandchildren and two grand-dogs. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her brother, John; and her parents, Helen and Clark.
Keeping with Ceil's giving spirit, her remains will be donated to a teaching medical facility in lieu of a funeral. The family will be gathering for a private celebration of life in the upcoming weeks. In lieu of services or flowers, the family requests considering joining in on the celebration of Ceil's life by donating to Celebrate Monty's life by finding a charity of their choice and donating resources or time.
You can to the family or in memory of Cecelia Marost.
