Cecil Ray Bell, 76, of Bloomfield, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, in Farmington. He was born on July 25, 1940, at home in Wewoka, Okla., to Fairy and Medreath Spurrier Bell. He had lived in New Mexico since he was 19 years old, but was an Okie at heart. Cecil worked in the oilfields doing everything from rough necking to serving as head of production for more than 40 years until his health forced his retirement. He spent more than 25 years with Southern Union Gas Company. He loved the outdoors, hunting, riding horses, and camping and picnics with his family. He loved returning to Oklahoma each summer to spend time with his siblings and "renewing his papers" as he always said. He was a diehard OU football fan-Boomer Sooners- and Dallas Cowboy fan. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Forrest and Coy Jean; and an infant son. He is survived by his wife of almost 37 years, Sandy; son, Billy Pike of Rio Rancho; daughters, Ange (Tim) of Midland, Texas, and Marilyn (Rich) of Aztec; brother, Don Bell of Ft. Stockton, Texas; sisters, Linda Cook of California, Doris Ann Baker (Henry) of Waurika, Okla., and Mary "Sweet Pea" Tolson (Gary) of Seminole, Okla.; 4 grandchildren, TJ (Sarah), Stephanie (Tom), Matthew (Amy), and Michael, and 6 great grandchildren, all of whom he loved without conditions. He was also loved by numerous brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was so proud of his family and held their love close to his heart! A celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at First Presbyterian Church, 865 N. Dustin in Farmington, with Rev. Glenn Perica officiating and Rev. Michele Goff, Pastor of Aztec Presbyterian as participant. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church. Funeral arrangements are with Farmington Funeral Home, 2111 W. Apache St., 505-325-2211. Those who wish to express condolences may do so at
