Mendoza, Cecilio TomasCecilio Tomas Mendoza, of Lincoln, CA, died peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, August 28, 2017, at Sutter Roseville Medical Center. He was 90. He was born on November 22, 1926 in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. An immigrant, he proudly became a naturalized citizen of the US. In 1970 he married Teresita Mendoza, and together they had 3 children. Cecilio and Teresita enjoyed over 46 years of marriage together. Dr. Mendoza earned his medical degree from the University of the Philippines, Manila and completed a medical internship at St. Peters Hospital in Albany, New York. He subsequently completed a general practice residency at Rogers Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC. He initially was an independent practitioner in the old JC Penney's building on South 8th St in Manitowoc, WI. In 1974, he moved his practice to the Medical Arts Building on York St. and in 1996, he joined Holy Family Memorial health network. He practiced at the Medical Arts Building until retiring on August 31, 2000, after over 32 years of dedicated practice. He was a member of the American Medical Association and the Manitowoc County Medical Society. He was very dedicated to his patients. A highlight of his practice was delivering babies, the first in 1972 and the last in 1992. He was blessed with many exemplary staff members, and his wife, Teresita managed his practice from 1986. Cecilio had a mischievous sense of humor and one of his favorite things was enjoying eating good food with family and friends, whether at home or during travels. He taught his sons golf and they spent many weekends on the greens and fairways (but mostly the rough and woods) at Branch River Country Club. He enjoyed playing Mahjong with close family and friends, often late into the night. Towards the latter part of his life he became a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Cecilio will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Teresita, his sons, Albert, Jason, and Joseph, his sisters, Agueda and Victoria, his grandchildren, Raine, Reid and Andrew, his daughters-in-law, Stephanie and Sharon, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Asyang, and his parents Victor and Guadalupe. Catholic visitation will be Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 10 am to 12 noon; a Catholic funeral mass will be held on the same date at 12 noon.
