ALBION — Chad D. Thompson, age 42, of Albion, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, as the result of an automobile accident in Oakland County, Michigan. He was born on July 7, 1974, the son of Robert and Diane (Rumsyre) Thompson in Columbia City, Indiana. On November 25, 2000, he married Tabitha Stump in Cromwell, Indiana. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Dakota Thompson, Caleb Thompson and Emily Thompson all of Ligonier, and Tyler Thompson of Huntertown, Indiana; siblings, Robert Thompson Jr. of North Dakota and Amber (Matthew) Joley of Fort Wayne, Indiana; along with two nieces, and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Chad graduated from Columbia City High School in 1992. He loved to hunt, fish, and cheer on West Noble sports. Chad was very proud of his children and supported them in all they did. He was a commercial truck driver and worked for E & S Services of Fort Wayne, Indiana. A funeral service in Chad's honor will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2016, at Stones Hill Community Church, 151 Stone's Hill Road; Ligonier. Minister and family friend Dave Hilbish will officiate. Burial will follow at Merriam Christian Chapel Cemetery. Family and friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier.
