Taylor Chalice Ann Taylor, of Hilliard, passed away October 23, 2016 after a 2-year struggle with cancer. Taylor was born on July 14, 1933 in Mason City, Iowa to Merwin L. and Mabel E. Zwald. She graduated from Paullina (Iowa) High School in 1951 and then moved with her parents to Tiffin, Ohio, where Taylor earned a bachelor's in music from Heidelberg College in 1955. She worked primarily as an executive secretary in her career, most recently for Worthington city schools. She also worked as an usher at the OSU Wexner Center for the Arts. Chalice was active in the chancel and handbell choirs at the Maple Grove United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Gale Crouse, and by Herbert S. Taylor, whom she married in 1985. She is survived by sister, Ida Belle Crouse of Mason, Ohio; sons, John Steven Ball and Rick Alan (Theresa) Ball, both of Kentucky, and Brian Robert (Karla) Ball of Grandview Heights; grandchildren, Rachael Ball, Stephanie (Jimmy) Moore, Sarah Ball and David Ball; six great-grandchildren; four stepchildren and step-grandchildren; a niece and three nephews; and ex-husband, John J. Ball of Grove City. Friends and family may attend calling hours at Maple Grove UMC, 7 W. Henderson Rd., Columbus, at 1 p.m. prior to the 2 p.m. memorial service on Saturday, October 29.
