A Time To Be Born Charlie Lee Bridges, Sr. was born January 03, 1927 to Mancey Lee Bridges and Otha Lee Wiggins in Dawson, Terrell County, GA. He was reared by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bridges. He attended the public schools of Terrell County, GA.
A Time To Love On September 20, 1947, he was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Nadine Geneva Burks. To this union six children were born.
A Time To Serve Charlie accepted God and Jesus Christ into his life at an early age. He joined St. Matthew Church. He later joined Second Mt. Olive No. 2, which later became Greater Second Mount Olive Baptist Church. He was baptized under the leadership of Rev. J.J. Johnson in 1952 and was ordained as a deacon in 1958 under the same leadership. He was president of the Usher Board for over 40 years.
He retired from Southeaster Mortgage and later became self-employed and opened Bridges Janitorial Services and later retired.
A Time For Homegoing God decided to call His good and faithful servant home to rest on Sunday, February 12, 2017. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Eva Bridges Hudson.
A Time To Mourn The legacy of his season is left to his loving and devoted wife, Nadine Geneva Bridges, Albany, GA; four loving sons, Dea. Charlie Lee Bridges, Jr. (Gloria), Albany, GA, Dea. Robert Bridges (Florine), Norfolk, VA, Otha Bridges, Sr. (Geraldine), Acworth, GA and Curtis Bridges (Velerie), Albany, GA; a daughter, Diane Jones (Ozell), Union City, GA; two god-sons, Nathaniel Laster and John Laster. He also leaves 16 grandchildren and 19+ great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
