Charles A. Bulger, Sr. 1940 - 2017CLINTON - Charles A. Bulger, Sr., 77, formerly of Whitesboro, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Faxton St. Luke's Health Care in New Hartford. He was born on May 30, 1940, in Utica, a son of the late Allen and Anna (McNally) Bulger. He was educated in local schools. On June 10, 1961, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Whitesboro, he was united in marriage to Mary Baker, a blessed union of over fifty years, filled with much love and mutual devotion. Mrs. Bulger died on November 14, 2011. Mr. Bulger was employed with the City of Utica DPW, retiring in 2002 after thirty years of dedicated service. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, in Whitesboro, and the Whitesboro Volunteer Fire Dept. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He also was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed the New York Yankees, the New York Rangers and the Buffalo Bills. He also enjoyed Syracuse basketball and watching old western movies. He is survived by his children: sons, Charles Bulger, of Deerfield, and John Bulger, and his wife, Tammie, of Clinton; and a daughter, Karen Savage and her husband, John, of Rome. He leaves four grandchildren, Katlynn and Joshua Savage and Austin and Paula Bulger; two step-grandchildren, Tamaira and Nani Tucker; and three step-greatgrandchildren, Evelyn, Syrus and Maddox. Last, but not least, he leaves his faithful canine companion, "TAZ", who never left his side. He was predeceased by a daughter, Dana Mae Bulger, who died in 1969. The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of Faxton-St. Luke's Health Care PCU Unit and also to Dr. Ferreiro, Dr. Jente and Dr. Garg, for all of their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 3:00 p.m., at the Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., Forty Main St., Whitesboro. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
