Charles Anthony OmarzuTellico Village, TNCharles Anthony Omarzu, 83, of Tellico Village, Tenn., had his cremated remains interred Wednesday, Aug. 2 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.Charles died unexpectedly after heart valve replacement surgery. He was born on May 9, 1934 in Flint, Mich. He earned degrees in physics from the
University of Illinois and the
University of Michigan and a degree in public administration from Wayne State University in Detroit.Charles served in the
U.S. Navy as a lieutenant aboard the aircraft carrier the U.S.S. Tarawa.Charles will be loved and missed by surviving wife of 55 years, Joan; his son, Tim, wife Ariel and grandsons Liam, Miles and Pierce of Chattanooga; daughter Susan Harter and husband Matt Harter of Port Townsend, Wa., and granddaughter Mae. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Olga Omarzu, and his older brother, Joe Omarzu.At Charles' request, no services were held.
