Charles E. BaileyGlen RockCharles E. Bailey, 94, died Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the York Hospital. He was the husband of Mary E. (Rother) Bailey, with whom he celebrated 73 years of marriage on December 19, 2015. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday June 6, 2016 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 27 Manchester St, Glen Rock, with the Rev. Fred Walthour officiating. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, and on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial with a Flag presentation by the York County Veterans Honor Guard, will be in Trinity U.C.C Church Cemetery, Glen Rock. Mr. Bailey was born on October 29, 1921 in Larue, Springfield Township, and was a son of the late Stewart E. Bailey and Amy (Brenneman) Bailey Masimore.He was a U.S.
Army Veteran having served in England, France, and Germany during
World War II. He retired in 1991 from AMP, Inc., where he was a substitute truck driver and worked in the stores department. Prior to that he worked as a cabinet maker for Seiling Furniture Company, Railroad, for 27 years and for Coleman's Furniture in Glen Rock. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Glen Rock, Stewartstown
VFW Post 7046, and an honorary member of the Cabin Run Hunting Club, Potter County. Charlie enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, gardening, and yard work. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Beverly J. Swope and her husband, Carl of Danboro, Pa.; a son, Ronald C. Bailey and his wife, Donna of Galeton, Pa.; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Swope and wife, Beth, Lori Westover and husband, Lynn, David Swope and wife, Stacey and Cody Bailey; seven great-grandchildren, Courtney, Ashley, Shane, Jason, Rachel, Gabriella, and Zachary; two brothers, Henry "Gene" E. Masimore of Cortland, Ohio, and James B. Masimore of Windsor. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Beatrice Boeckel, Mamie Keiser, and Treva Whorl; and a brother Stewart M. Bailey.
