Charles Robbins, beloved resident of Medina, Ohio, United States, passed away at 12:07am surrounded by those he loved most on July 20, 2023, at the age of 94. He was born on March 25, 1929, to the late John and Elizabeth Robbins.
Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He touched the lives of all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Throughout his life, he exemplified dedication, compassion, and hard work.
Charles grew up in Medina and cherished the tight-knit community. After graduating from Medina High School in 1947, he went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Business from Ohio University. He then served in the United States Army, where he honorably defended his country during the Korean War.
Following his military service, Charles embarked on a successful career in finance. He worked for over four decades at a local bank, where he developed strong relationships with colleagues and clients alike. Charles was known for his exceptional financial acumen and his willingness to help others achieve their goals.
Outside of his professional life, Charles was an avid outdoorsman. He had a deep love for nature and spent countless hours fishing, hunting, wrenching on vehicles or machinery, and camping with family and friends. His favorite pastime was exploring the beautiful parks surrounding his hometown, where he found solace and tranquility.
Charles was a dedicated family man. He met the love of his life, Margaret, in college, and they were married for 63 years. Together, they raised six wonderful children, Donald, Debbie, Shari, Katherine, Benjamin, and Emily. Charles adored his 7 grandchildren, Matt, Lindsey, Kimberly, Cody, Brittany, Chelsea, and Jacob, as well as many great grandchildren, and shared many cherished moments with each of them.
Charles is survived by his children, Donald, Debbie, Shari, Katherine, Benjamin, and Emily; his grandchildren, Sarah and Jacob; and his sister, Susan. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret, and his brothers, William and Thomas.
The loss of Charles leaves a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and community. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and integrity will endure, inspiring generations to come. May he rest in peace.
Funeral services for Charles Robbins will be held on July 27, 2023, at the Waite & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Medina Food Bank, in memory of Charles's commitment to helping those in need.
