Makal, Charles Edward A loving, caring, and devoted husband, father and grandfather, Charles Edward Makal passed away on November 15, 2016. Charles Makal was born on January 9th, 1954 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, August and Loretta Makal. He is survived by wife of 41 years, Sung Makal; and his children, Siam, Keith, Janet, and Brian; his grandchildren, Tristan, Eithan, Averi, Charlee, Edisan and Maxwell; and daughters-in-law: Becky, Trevi, Tina, and Vanessa. Charles retired from the United States Air Force after serving over 21 years as a Security
Police Officer in Thailand, Turkey, Norton AFB, CA and Luke AFB, AZ. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Applied Science from ASU. He loved his family, country and his beloved dog Vahn. Charles had a passion for history, reading and learning, as well as collecting numerous memorabilia. Charles, you will be missed and never forgotten. A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 12pm-2pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016, with viewing from 9:30am-10:30am and service from 10:30am-11:30am at the Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary 7924 N. 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301. Escorts will assist travel to the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024 for military burial service at 12:30pm.
