He was born on August 29, 1933 in Strathmore, California to Charles "Doc" and Ena Fisher. After graduating from Strathmore High School he went on to attend Cal Poly SLO before transferring to Fresno State where he graduated with his degree in Agronomy. Charles returned to Strathmore and started his own farming business with his brother. With the help of his cousin, Charles met Carol Holzapfel from Chicago, Illinois. They were married on December 29, 1962 and moved to Tulare where they would raise their three children. Charles was a Farmer and could be found roaming the fields of various crops that he was so proud to call his own. He was Chairman of the Farm Equipment Show in 1979 and named Farmer of the Year in 1987. Charles also held posts on the Sierra Citrus Board of Directors and USDA Committees for several years. He was an active member of Young Farmers, Elks and Rotary, where he served as President from 1985-1986. As if farming wasn't challenging enough, Charles decided to expand into something different and opened up Fisher Wheel & Tire, which he enjoyed owning until retiring in 2012.Charles was fortunate to be able to travel the world with Carol and enjoyed sharing stories of the places they saw and people they met. If you happened to be at Fugazzis for a Thursday lunch you would surely see him and his buddies deep in conversation and trying to one up each other's stories. Charles loved the Fresno State Bulldogs and enjoyed tailgating at football games and attending the basketball games. Charles could be seen rooting on his grandchildren playing whatever sport they were involved in, and was very proud of their accomplishments.Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Daryl and his wife Carol.
