Charles Harmon Oliver, Sr.Age: 79 • Waynesboro, VACharles Harmon Oliver, Sr., 79, husband of Dorcus Ann "Dot" (Mawyer) Oliver, of 31 Peak Lane, was called to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, May 1, 2017.Mr. Oliver was born on October 19, 1937 in Lynchburg, Virginia, a son of the late James Leonard and Froney (Lawhorn) Oliver.Charles was a member of Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church and retired in 1987 from E.I. DuPont in the maintenance department. Mr. Oliver was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was loved by everyone. He never missed the chance to proclaim the Gospel to anyone who would listen and always answering "I'm Thankful."In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Berkley Oliver, James Oliver, and Douglas Oliver; four sisters, Mariah Kidd, Estelle Thayer, Maggie Fitzgerald, and Rene Briggs.Surviving in addition to his wife of 24 years, are three sons, Tim Rowzie and Karen, Tony Rowzie and Alice; C.H. Oliver, II and Wendy; two daughters, Tamara (Rowzie) Moore and M.C. and Cherri Lynn (Oliver) Boitnott and Dean;grandchildren, Jacob and Jeremy Boitnott, Mandy Widner, Josh and Jessie Rowzie Ethan Hammond, Cody and Chase Rowzie, Savannah and Stephen Godlewski, Paul and Chadd Moore, Katie and Jared Roadcap; six great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Inez (Oliver) Johnson, and Frances (Oliver) Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Ronnie Fitzgerald and his wife Nancy.The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.A Graveside Service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017 in Augusta Memorial Park by Pastor Paul LaPrevotte followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. in Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church, Waynesboro.Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Oliver's grandsons.Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.coffman
