Chuck was born on July 31, 1965, in Chanute, Kansas, to Charles J. Petty Sr. and Geraldine Petty. He grew up with a strong sense of family that remained at the center of his life. On August 16, 1997, he married the love of his life, Trudy Petty, and together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.
Chuck was a man who found his greatest joy in the simple, meaningful moments—time spent surrounded by family and friends, the roar of a motorcycle beneath him with a given name of Q-Ball, and the warmth of backyard barbecues and gatherings filled with stories and laughter. He had a passion for riding, a generous spirit, and a way of making those around him feel welcome and valued. His presence was steady, his humor genuine, and his love for his family ran deep.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Trudy Petty; his children, Felicia Urban and her husband Anthony, Cassandra West and her husband Grant, Teah Hood and her husband Blake, and Daughter-in-Law Jamie Evans. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Cameron, Treyton, Skyllar, Kayla, Colton, Easton, Judah, Jaden, Caidence, Zavannah, Beckham, Everleigh, and William each of whom brought immense pride and joy to his life.
Chuck is also survived by his siblings: Vernon Petty and his wife Melissa, along with their children Emily, Justin, Alexandria, and Dylan; Shawn Clark and children Chance, Tyra and Cayden; Mike Clark and his wife Nina, along with their children Lexi and Gavin; and Katie Clark and her children Shay, Renee and Jayce. He leaves behind many extended family members and close friends who will continue to carry his memory forward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles J. Petty Sr., Geraldine Petty, and his stepmother, Dorothy Petty; his son, Daniel Evans.
Chuck’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, and living life fully in the company of those who matter most. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
