Charles Jefferson Hagood passed away at his home on February 27, 2016. Jeff was born on November 4, 1961 in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from LaGrange High School and attended The University of Georgia where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.
Mr. Hagood joined Montag & Caldwell in 1995 after spending five years at NationsBank as a Vice President and senior portfolio manager in the Investment Management Group. Prior to NationsBank, Jeff was associated with Leavy Investment Management as a portfolio manager serving institutional clients. He began his career in 1984 as an investment officer with First National Bank of Atlanta. Jeff served as Senior Vice President of Portfolio Management at Montag & Caldwell. His professional affiliations include the CFA Institute and the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals.
Jeff was an active member of Northside United Methodist Church. He served as a board member of the Westerstroms Charitable Trust and the Georgia Society to Prevent Blindness. Jeff was also a member of the University of Georgia President's Club. Jeff served as a director on the governing board at The Cherokee Town and Country Club and was also a dedicated member of The Union League Club in New York City, The Sea Island Club and The Ocean Forest Golf Club. Jeff had a great love for the game of golf, and some of his happiest times were golfing with close friends at home and around the world, especially on an annual trip to Scotland.
Jeff is survived by his wife Elizabeth Paris Hagood, his sons Cole Hagood, Robert Brooks and William Brooks, and his daughter, Megan Hagood. He is also survived by his mother, Margaret McAfee Lukken, and sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Richard Myers, all of LaGrange, Georgia. Also, his father and step mother, Cindy and Charles Hagood of Dacula, Georgia, his mother in-law and father in-law, Alice and Tom Paris of Gainesville, Georgia, and his sister in-law and brother-in-law, Sandra and Trey Paris of Atlanta, Georgia. Surviving nieces are Anna Myers , Sophie Myers and Eliza Paris and nephew, Thomas Paris, IV. He is also survived by his step-brothers and step-sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Lukken, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Edge, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lukken, Mrs. Laura Griffin, Mrs. Kerri Lukken, Mr. Fritz Lukken and Miss Amy Lukken. Also, his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Ryder. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Walter J. Lukken and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas R. McAfee, Sr. and Dr. and Mrs. Delma L. Hagood.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 2nd at 2 p.m. at Northside United Methodist Church, 2799 Northside Drive, NW, Atlanta, GA 30305.
