WHARTON, Jr., Charles Lancaster Charles Lancaster Wharton, Jr., 89, of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away on November 15, 2016. He was born on September 6, 1927 to parents Laura Warren and Charles Warton. Charles graduated from Druid Hills High School and received his BS and MD in aeronautical engineering from Georgia Tech University. He served as a piolet with the
United States Navy. Charles retired from Lockheed in Marietta, Georgia. He was attended services at Woodstock Presbyterian Church. Charles enjoyed horses, birdwatching, music, woodworking and building model trains. He served as President of the National Trakehner Association. Charles is survived by; daughter, Laura Wharton (Mike); son, Jeff Wharton (Sherry), of Greer, SC; granddaughters, Ashley Swann (Bradford), of Greer, SC, and Jessica Hellrung (Nick), of St. Augustine, FL; grandson, Alex Wharton, MD., of Charleston, SC; great grandchildren, William and Charlotte Swann, Hall and Henry Hellrung; sister, Laura Wharton McCullough, of Duluth, GA; two nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his wife, Danette Rutledge Wharton; and son, Daniel Lancaster Wharton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to Cherokee Humane Society,
www.cchumanesociety.org. Visitation will be held at H.M Patterson & Son Canton Hill Chapel on Friday, November 18, 2016, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. A graveside service will be conducted at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00AM.
