Charles McKenzie Sr. passed away on January 27, 2017. He was born on April 13, 1932 in Clarksdale, Mississippi to Jim and Verlinda R. McKenzie. Charles served in the United States Army and was later a cook for the V.A. and a bartender. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Miley McKenzie, Darnsella Pearson and Clester Williams; and a brother Wallace McKenzie. He leaves behind his wife Esker J. McKenzie; daughters Katie Johnson and Denise (Tige)(Franklin), sons Stanley McKenzie (Pamela), Charles McKenzie Jr., Harold McKenzie (Joyce) and Larry McKenzie; sister Rosetta Cooper; a brother J.T. McKenzie; 13 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and Godchildren. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service to be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 1 p.m. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until service time.
