Burial is in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery under direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home. Charles peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by his family. He was born on December 21, 1931 in Beaumont, Texas to the late Ellis and Thelma Armbruster Preston.Charles Preston was witty, strong and a lover of cars, planes and Longhorn football. His greatest love was reserved for Romadene, his wife of sixty-one years. He was strengthened by his abiding faith in Christ and devotion to his three children. We will miss him but we will join him soon. His children are grateful for their parents' loving church, Shiloh Road Church of Christ, where they were longtime members.He is survived by; sister, Jane Bridges of San Diego, California and sister-in-law, Peggy Preston of League City; son, Eric Preston and his wife Diann, of Tyler; daughters, Denalyn Lucado and husband Max, of San Antonio and Pam Preston, of Dallas; grandchildren, Jenna Bishop and husband Brett; Andrea Lucado, Sara Jones and husband Jeff; Justin Burkett and wife Ashley, Kindel Burkett and Taylor Preston; great-granddaughter, Rose Bishop and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Jana Preston and brother, Lynn Preston.The family will receive friends from 6:30PM to 8:00PM, Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
