Charles "Chuck" Herbert VineyChillicothe: Charles "Chuck" Herbert Viney, age 86 of Chillicothe passed away on September 10, 2017 at his residence. He was born on September 2, 1931 to the late William Harold and Dorothy Powell Viney. He is survived by two daughters, Denise Viney of Springfield, OH, Kim Salah of Dayton, OH, son Charles "Chuck" Viney, and only surviving sibling, sister Sylvia Viney Smith of Troy who is strongly upholding the strength and love of the "Viney" legacy. He was preceded in death by his former wife Evelyn (Gothard) Mitchell; sons, Arron "Jim" Viney and Marvin Viney; brothers, William Harold Jr., Russell, Wilbur, Sidney, Vernon, and Robert Viney; and sisters, Betty Viney Reid, Katherine Patterson Payne and Veda Viney Hurley.He attended Chillicothe High School where he was a star athlete playing football, basketball and track-and-field. He was a creative and skilled carpenter, who shared his talents by making gifts for his family and friends; we will forever treasure those gifts. He was very protective of those he loved, and enjoyed sharing good times with his friends and family. He was very proud of his many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Special thanks to friends, Mr. & Mrs. George and Phyllis Baker, special nephew Elliott Patterson, and his loving and supporting grandson Arron Viney and his family. A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery on Thursday, October 13, 2017 with Bishop Melvin Maughmer Sr. officiating.
