KINSTON - Charles William "Bill" Cauley Sr., 72, of Kinston passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012. Bill was born on June 27, 1940, in Lenoir County to the late George William and Nancy Mitchell Cauley. He retired from DuPont in 1996. After retirement he started volunteering at Lenoir Memorial Hospital, in which he had put in over 9,000 hours. He had raised over $20,000.00 this year alone for the LMH Volunteers, exceeding his goal. He loved the Cheer Corner as well as his LMH family. He served on several boards at LMH which include the Foundation Board, Blood Drive Chair and Projects Chair. He attended Jackson Heights F.W.B. Church in Kinston and drove the Church Bus for the seniors. He loved attending church there and loved each and every member at that church and considered them a huge part of his family. Bill loved watching NASCAR and Jeff Gordon was his "Main Man." In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Janie Ray Southerland and brother-in-law, Carlton Beaman. Survivors include his wife, Carol Kelly Cauley; children Chuck Cauley and wife Linda Goff Cauley, Sno Cauley King and husband Forrest King, Bryan Cauley and wife Lisa Tucker Cauley, and Christopher Cauley and wife Barbara Wolfe Cauley; step-children, Keith Scazafavo and wife "Misty" and Darren Scazafavo and wife "Voni"; grandchildren Ryan King and wife Marsha King, Stacy Cauley Singleton and husband Nathan Singleton, Adam King, Jamie Cauley and wife Kaitlyn Burt Cauley, Leah Cauley, Harrison Cauley, Avery Cauley, and Ashley Cauley; step-grandchildren, Jason Scazafavo, Anthony Scazafavo, Amanda Scazafavo, Alex Nobles, and Joey Ameritti; great-grandchildren Triston King, Chandler Singleton, and Kaylee Singleton; brother Vernon Cauley and wife Jane; sisters Sylvia Carr and husband Bill, and Linda Beaman; brother-in-law, Charles Southerland; and special family friends, Tonya, Janet, and the Kephart family. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2012, at Jackson Heights Original F.W.B. Church. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. with the Reverend Ashley Summerlin officiating. Interment will follow the service at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
