Charlie (Charlie Brown) SantiniFebruary 15, 1938 - May 4, 2016 Charlie Santini, 78, went to his father on May 4th, 2016. He was born on February 15th, 1938. He is survived by his sons, Bobby, Jimmy and Charles Jr.; daughters Christina, Michelle and Rhonda; his brothers, Ernie and Richard; and his sisters Alice and Olga. He is preceded in death by his wife Tiny; brothers Augie and Johnny and parents Frank and Pearl. He attended Yuma High before enlisting in the
U.S. Navy where he served on the USS Lexington. Charlie was a bartender for the
VFW where he met his love, Tiny who at the time was waitressing. In 1965 he started working for the Yuma County Water Users. Charlie worked there for 40 years before retiring as a supervisor in 2005. He was a proud member of American Legion Post 19 and a long time member of St. Thomas Indian Mission. His hobbies included hunting, camping, and his all time favorite was to cook his delicious barbecue that has been enjoyed by many throughout Yuma County. Some of the best memories family and friends share are from gatherings at the ranch especially as he hosted the Santini Annual Horseshoe Tournament. He was a fun and loving Tata of 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grand children and an uncle to 33 nieces and nephews. Everyone that knew him loved him. He was known to some as Buggo, Pops and Brown. Wherever he was you knew there would be lots of laughs, love and beer drinking. Our family has lost a very special link in the family chain. Charlie taught us the true meaning of faith, love, respect and the joy that life has to offer. As he would always say "to have friends you have to be a friend.." Mass Pallbearers are Charles Santini, Sonny Ruiz, Bobby Evaro, Jimmy Evaro, Ray Garcia, Elias Castro, Ernie Santini and Richard Santini.
