Charline McIntireRaleigh, NCCharline Beryl McIntire died on November 7, 2016 after a short illness. She was born on January 20, 1920 in Geneva, Nebraska to Clifford Crouch and Elsie Frost Crouch. She had one brother, Robert. The family moved to Des Moines, IA in 1921. Charline was the widow of Edwin Grant McIntire, Jr., who was the publisher of the Des Moines Daily Record (later, the Business Record). She is survived by her children: Barbara Pildis of Raleigh, NC, Stephen McIntire of Clive, IA, and Diane Rose and her husband, Hewitt Rose, of Bethesda, MD. Her grandchildren are Rachel Pildis and her husband, Don Anderson, Jon Pildis and his wife Christy Schragal, Abram Rose, and Charlotte Rose. Great grandchildren are Maddie Pildis and Jake Pildis.After retirement, Charline and Ed greatly enjoyed winters in Naples, FL and summers in Des Moines. After Ed's death in 2005, Charline moved to Raleigh to be closer to family. She loved spending time with her friends at Independence Village, painting and jewelry making, watching PBS, and following the Cubs and the sports teams of her children's colleges. She was a faithful member of Unity churches in Des Moines, Naples, and, most recently, the Unity Church of Raleigh.Graveside services will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either one of her favorite causes, Habitat for Humanity and The Carter Center.Condolences to the family at
