Peacefully September 18, 2020 Cheryl Summers was called home to be with our Lord and Savior. Cheryl was born on October 18, 1963, in Orangeburg South Carolina. She was the first child of Minnie Howard and the late Joe Jackson.
Although Cheryl would claim Washington, D.C. as her home, she was born in Orangeburg South Carolina and she was living in Durham, North Carolina. She attended H.D. Woodson Sr. high school where she got her diploma. Then she enrolled in Army. She later became C.N.A. This was a job she loved. She retired from being C.N.A. in 2017. At that time she moved to Durham. There she worked at the department store Belk's. Cheryl absolutely loved working at the BBQ battles held annually, she loved it so much she came back to D.C. to work it.
Cheryl is survived by Minnie Howard ( mother ), her five beautiful children; Cha-Keisha, Daniel, Danielle, Chanel and D'Aundrey; a lovely granddaughter Amirah ( that she always talked about ). Three amazing sisters, Andrea, Jacqueline and Reshay. Three stepsisters, Yvonne, Debra and Patricia ( proceeded in death). A goddaughter Sharon. Two nephews Darren and Isaiah and niece Larrisa One greatniece Aaliyah and greatnephew Zion and host of other family.
Anyone who knew Cheryl knew that she was loving and caring soul. She remembered birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, etc. She was a reserved person ( she was like an old car, you have to warm it up ) , once she warmed up to you she was the kindest person.
You can to the family or in memory of Cheryl Summers.
